Escape Trip Planner Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to Escape Trip Planner, package name com.escape.aiitineraryplanner, provided by TravelToLive. It explains how the app accesses, collects, uses, and shares information when you use Escape Trip Planner.
Information the app may collect or process
Escape Trip Planner is designed to keep most travel planning information on your device. Depending on the features you use, the app may process:
- Trip details you enter, such as destinations, dates, travel style, budget level, dietary preferences, notes, saved trips, packing items, and journal content.
- Approximate location information that may be inferred from your device, network, IP address, selected destination, or advertising services. The app does not ask to share your precise live location with other users.
- App activity, such as features used, AI plan requests, saved guide actions, ad interactions, reports, and diagnostic events.
- App information and performance data, such as crash information, diagnostics, device type, operating system, and performance signals.
- Device or other identifiers, including advertising identifiers and an anonymous device quota identifier used to protect free AI plan limits.
How information is used
The app uses information for the following purposes:
- To provide app functionality, including saved trips, Today Mode, packing tools, and itinerary planning.
- To generate optional AI itineraries when you request them.
- To protect free AI usage limits and prevent abuse.
- To show and measure ads where advertising features are enabled.
- To understand app performance, diagnose issues, and improve the app.
- To personalize planning suggestions based on the preferences you choose.
- To support fraud prevention, security, and compliance.
AI itinerary generation
When you use the AI planning feature, your travel request, selected preferences, approximate planning context, anonymous quota identifier, and reward verification tickets may be sent securely to the Escape Trip Planner backend hosted on Vercel. The backend may send the request to OpenAI to generate an itinerary response. Do not enter highly sensitive personal information into AI prompts.
Advertising
Escape Trip Planner may use Google AdMob to display ads, including banner ads and rewarded ads. AdMob and related Google services may collect or receive device identifiers, approximate location, ad interactions, app activity, and diagnostic information to provide, measure, and improve advertising. You can manage advertising choices in your device settings and Google settings.
Starting with app version 1.0.14, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to check whether an ad privacy message is required. It requests ads only when that SDK permits requests. Where available, you can review or change your choices through Settings > Ad privacy choices. Saved trips and travel guides remain available without watching rewarded ads.
Third-party services
The app and backend may use service providers to operate features, including Google Play services, Google AdMob, Vercel, OpenAI, and any analytics, crash, hosting, or infrastructure providers needed to run the app. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Sharing of information
TravelToLive does not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers when needed for app functionality, AI itinerary generation, advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, or app operations.
Storage and retention
To verify rewarded ads, Google receives a hashed device quota identifier and a random one-use reward ticket. Our backend validates Google's signed confirmation and stores plan usage and reward balances in Upstash Redis. Pending tickets expire after 24 hours. Reward transaction hashes and duplicate-prevention records expire after seven days. Usage and reward balances remain to prevent app-data resets from resetting free plan limits.
Saved trips, profile choices, packing items, journal notes, and local app records are primarily stored on your device. You can delete local app data from the app settings or your device settings. Server-side AI usage records, reports, logs, and quota records may be kept for as long as needed to operate the service, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve reliability.
Security
Data sent from the app to online services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS where supported. No method of transmission or storage is perfect, so TravelToLive cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Escape Trip Planner is a general travel planning app and is not directed at children. The app should be used by children only with appropriate parent or guardian involvement.
Your choices
- You can choose not to use the AI planning feature.
- You can delete local saved app data from Settings inside the app.
- You can manage ad personalization through your device and Google settings.
- In version 1.0.14 and later, you can use Ad privacy choices in Settings where this option is available.
- You can avoid entering personal or sensitive information into travel notes or AI prompts.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Escape Trip Planner changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
